We were a walk away from reaching the altar

He said he never loved like this before

How life lied on my faceless regret

Filling me with unnecessary hopes

Dreamless nights

Channeled by midday nightmares

How was laughter to rein my conscious

Dreading a morning without his

I stood bare before the mirror

Eyes told of silver tears

Lightly coloring a silhouette of exhaustion

Had he found my replacement amidst the bosom of her

Illusions of a forever love broken

Cracked by false pretenses of the heart

Where was i to place my longing of happiness

One walk away from the altar

He was gone

Into the arms of my replacement
